A Reflection Thought Heart to Heart

As summer blossoms through its vibrant peak towards fall
As summer jobs begin to wrap around moving toward last days
As family vacations and visits with the relatives bubble into fruition
And our spring goodbyes prepare to become autumn hellos
I think of you, beloved student friends, and as I consider,
for the hundredth time, how precious you are.

May God bless our comings and goings, our thinking and our doing
May God guide all of us, including and especially those who
will be coming to campus for the first time and those who
left for the last time in spring

And until we are together again/for the first time, may God
hold you close in the palm of God's hand.
