Holy Union Ceremonies
A Holy Union ceremony at Community United Church of Christ is a wonderful way to publicly acknowledge God as a part of your relationship and to proclaim the steadfast, covenantal, and passionate love of God. Our church community is an open and affirming one, welcoming and encouraging same gender and different gender couples to enter into lifelong partnerships. In July 2005 the United Church of Christ as a denomination passed a resolution on marriage equality. We invite you to follow the links below for more information. Our church building is a beautiful setting for any ceremony, with vaulted ceilings, a raised altar area, and wooden pews. Music for your ceremony can be played by our organist on the organ or baby grand piano. A new state-of-the-art sound system is also available for playing pre-recorded music or enhancing a live performance. Several areas are available for staging of your parties prior to the ceremony. Your decision to include us in your special day is important to us and we have assigned a congregation member to answer your questions throughout the process of planning and carrying out your ceremony. The Holy Union Task Leader is available to meet with you and your families to help you make your plans and will be present at the rehearsal and the ceremony to provide any assistance needed. Please read our Holy Union Policy for more detailed information. Any remaining questions can be emailed to holyunion@community-ucc.org Other Documents of Interest:Holy Union Policy (current this policy is being modified by Rev. Leah Robberts-Mosser and will be available later)
