Rally Day 2004 (September 12)


Sponsored by Religious Education and 150th Anniversary Committee.

Please sign up on the form on the credenza at the back of the Sanctuary by September 5 and let the Committees know how many will come and what you plan to bring.

Schedule of Events

9:00 am - Sunday school for children in Fellowship Hall - details below*
Adult Education Class - "Lost Christianities" led by Ron Szoke in Conference Room

10:15 am - Worship Service - Sanctuary
CEV Bible presentation to children from K through 5th grade,
CEV Extra Faith Bible to youth in 6th through 8th grade.

1:00 pm - 4 pm - All-church picnic at Crystal Lake Park Pavilion
including BBQ pork sandwiches from Longhorn Smokehouse plus salads, desserts, veggies or chips brought by participants. Watermelon and drinks furnished but bring your own table service. There will be a special jazz band playing during the picnic.

~2 pm - Old-fashioned games for all ages
Labyrinth Walk at the park.

Details of children (and adults) Sunday morning activities

9:00 - 9:10 am Opening

We will gather around the worship table to light our candle, receive our offering, and share our joys and concerns. Ms. ward will lead us in singing our theme song, "I cannot come to the Banquet."

9:10 - 9:15 am Sherpherd Introductions

Classes will be introduced to their Shepherds and invited to travel to the different Cornerstone classrooms for an introductory activity.

9:15 - 9:30 am Cornerstone Classrooms

Bible Improv with Barbara Bell - check out the great costume that you will be using to bring the Bible Story to life!

Bible@yourfingertips with David Gerstenecker - computers in Sunday School?

Eat your way through the Bible with Mary Anderson in the weeks ahead, you'll be preparing treats for coffee hour. Today, just enjoy a little snack.

Faith Today with Mary Koloroutis - make your own portfolio, so you'll have a place to keep your creations.

Moved by the Spirit with Tony Oligney-Estill - make sure you eat your breakfast, 'cause Tony will have you running, jumping, and shaking it up!

9:30 - 10:00 Pillows and Packs

Stuff and sew a pillow that you can use each week as we gather under the tent in the Bedouin Encampment. Don't forget to personalize a backpack for the Bible that you'll receive today in Worship!     You bet!
