Introductory paragraph - let Lanie know if you have minor changes (Look at the "current events" version of the home page where the paragraph is aligned at the edges) 4. Current Events - it was decided that we could have 0, 1, or 2 upcoming/current events highlighted at a given time on the home page. The "Current Events" link will eventually take you to the full list of upcoming events. With the new layout, one should expect any highlighted upcoming events to be displayed below the "Current Events" banner (link). Soon after Sunday April 6, David G. will replace the Springside Dinners and Crop Walk notices with Easter Sunday Celebration (and maybe Whirlwind Project Events Calendar if nothing else needs to go up) 5. A link to Community UCC in Raleigh NC is now at the bottom of our home page and vice versa. B. History page - may be considered as an archive Proposed - scan Ryan's postcard that has the three churches that merged and add this with necessary annotation to the History page. FYI - the "Goose Pond Plaque" is mentioned in 2nd paragraph of Curt's History (that's sufficient) C. Staff page - take photos of Bob Scaggs, Linda Vaughn, and Katie Casey if they don't already exist and put them with the writeups on the Staff page. D. COMMENTS? - deadline for submission is at least 2 weeks before you want to see your event listed on the web. - Tom will create a list of information which is needed to post such a notice and pass it around. After modifications, Lanie will create a blurb for the Communigram III. GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS for putting "pages", "notices" on Communiweb A. Guidelines for submitting "input" 1. input from Committees for a web page or re a current event notice - send to Terri or Lanie, preferably by email any preliminary screening by them 2. at most 2 notices to be highlighted on home page at one time 3. "event" notices should be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance of when they are to be posted on the web. 4. submitters of "event" notices should be sure to include contact info, as well as what, where, when, why Tom will write up these guidelines for submitting notices. 5. Lanie will write article for Communigram, soliciting content for committee "pages" and presenting the guidelines for submitting "event" notices. B. Mechanics of getting info onto Communiweb 1. After the Software Task Group determines what software is needed for the office computer so that Terri (and Lanie) have capabilities to edit the web, manipulate photos, and possibly use acrobat to create pdf files, 2. David G. trains the Web Task Group so they can help him add pages, notices to Communiweb. 3. Later Tom trains Terri and Lanie on how to do this.
