TIMELINE: March 2 Skit announcement during service re March 9 presentations March 9 Presentations in Parlor 9 am Adult Sunday School and after the service ~11:15 am No Communiweb meeting until after March 9 (Printout Part II re preparations - it is long and detailed) LIST OF TASKS BELOW with the PERSON IN CHARGE Subgroups will work on their tasks on their own. =============================== I. PROGESS since last meeting =============================== A. DSL - Saju and Ryan still trying to get it connected before the 1 month trial period ends. We hope to have it ready and tested by time of Presentations March 9 B. Communiweb changes - David G and Richard will continue their updates re graphics and menues David G has already modified the "interim pastor" photo/commentary on the staff page. Kevin recommended and rest agreed that the link to the Campus Ministry needs to be at the highest level so it is more prominent and easy to find. Then the UCF is more likely to advertise just the URL for www.community-ucc.org To accomplish this, "Campus Ministry" probably will replace "Church Structure" on the menu buttons and perhaps be located closer to the top of the menu. Terri is nearing completion of the hierarchy of menu/submenu items. She will email us with the "final" list when it is ready. David G. will continue to alert us by email when there are changes to the web page(s). C. % churches with websites - Lanie Ruth Gilbert was hoping we had some statistics so - I sent an email to Rod Moody (UCC website, local congregations) to find out how many UCC congregations there are in Illinois and how many have websites... I checked the Progressive Christianity website and found that There are 6 Progressive churches of UCC type in Illinois and 4 of the 6 have listed websites. Of these, UCF is listed without a website and CUCC is listed with the correct URL. The 3 Illinois Progressive Presbyterian churches include Champaign McKinley with a website and two of the ones in the UCC list. =============================== II. COMMUNIWEB PRESENTATIONS =============================== A. COMMUNIGRAM/BULLETIN announcements re March 9 Presentations Terri will put an appropriate announcement in both the Communigram and Sunday bulletins (Mar 2 and Mar 9) about the Communiweb Presentation on Sunday March 9 to take place in the parlor during the Adult Sunday School class (to which High School students are invited) and after the worship service. If needed, Lanie can help with this. ------------------------------------ B. MARCH 2 - ANNOUNCEMENT - TASKS 1. Terri will inform Lanie as to who the liturgist will be that day. Lanie will talk to liturgist about Richard making the announcement. 2. URL BANNER IN CHARGE: Karla HELPERS: Ryan & Richard during worship service, assisted from the choir loft by Deb and Dave M? TASK - print the banner on light colored sheets (like a rainbow) attach letters together and onto twine or wire and figure out how to hang it from the loft. On Sun Mar 2 during the service, they will begin to hang the banner from the choir loft during the "announcement"; it will be left there during the remainder of the service (unless Rev Houts objects) They will also put it up before the March 9th service and take it down afterwards. 3. ANNOUNCER - Richard (has script) 4. NEW COMER - Lanie (has script - which will be sent to those not at meeting) --------------------------------------- C. MARCH 9 - PRESENTATION - TASKS 1. URL BANNER - Karla and Richard put it up before the worship service 2. SERVICE (on evangelism) IN CHARGE: Terri will deal with children's moment, web presentation announcement, etc. that takes place during the worship service. 3. CHILDREN's SUNDAY SCHOOL - first 15 min IN CHARGE: Terri - probably needs/use a laptop similar to how David G. displays the web pages for us. 4. ADULT EDUCATION AND POST WORSHIP SERVICE - in parlor IN CHARGE: Kevin and Tom HELPERS: Please let Kevin know if you can commit to helping out especially during the coffee hour to informally answer questions and demonstrate features on the web. Saju, David G., David S., others? EQUIPMENT - Scott will talk to Bob Scaggs about running the DSL or ethernet line into the parlor (from basement or from the offices). Tom will provide both a laptop and data projector. David G. will bring his laptop (needs it for work the next day) SETUP in PARLOR - the general idea which may get modified when implemented 2 stations - probably data projector/laptop set on table that is behind the sofa near the fireplace and project onto the east wall. We hope this will be connected to the internet. A second laptop could be placed on the table by the piano for use during coffee hour. It would not be connected to the the internet but one could still click between different web pages like David G does at our meetings (might be same laptop that Terri uses downstairs at 9 am) PRESENTATION - Kevin and Tom will set up the equipment and do the presentation during the Adult Sunday School Class - others may assist. It will be somewhat informal. Topics might include - Brief introduction to the web How to get to the church website The Communiweb - home page - features and why graphic design (rainbow ribbon, CUCC logo, etc.) layout (changing photo, etc.) menus and submenus Staff page Music page Campus Ministry link History page Potential pages for different church groups, such as Youth Group, Program & Mission, etc. and how these groups can submit ideas/information for inclusion/implementation. For the Coffee Hour - we could cover the above as people come up and ask questions - this time with the data projector and a couple of us also at the other laptop. INVITATION TO HEADS OF COMMITTEES Terri will invite the High School class to join the Adult Sunday School class on March 9 Terri will update Lanie with final list of heads of committees and their email addresses when available (or tel. no) by Feb 28 Lanie will invite these leaders or their representatives to attend the Adult Sunday School presentation and then give feedback to their groups.
