Below is the report on what we accomplished so far, and what we plan to do next. Check out the Communiweb - some (subtle) things have changed. If you have been assigned a specific task, please report back on any progress during the summer by email to everyone so we will know where we stand. - thanks. Software Task Group Scott and Tom figure we can get Dreamweaver, fireworks, acrobat, and maybe photoshop through University Central Stores for <$1000. A digital camera is expected to cost between $300 to $350. Action taken: Scott Bush will request a budget item for Communiweb for $1500 for immediate use: $1000 to cover software for church office computer $500 to cover a digital camera for church use. This may not be everything - we may find that the office needs a color printer. 2. Current Events items - Web task group (David G., Tom, Richard, Saju, Scott) Note: Richard need instructions on how to do this. Action to be taken: East Bay Camp - add "canceled" (but leave up until May 31) Whirlwind Project - migrate to past events after May 10 Summer Arts Camp - to be added - Terri look into 150 Anniversary - to be added - Terri will check with Peggy Wade so some minimum info can be put up on the web. 3. Maps - Richard showed us a map of main floor of church Action to be taken: Richard will make changes to main floor map, create a basement map, and put these and a simple CU map with church location marked onto the web. We might provide a direct link to the "directions" (input line on mapquest or yahoo). 4. Photos - incomplete - need Bob Scaggs, Linda Vaughn, and Katie Casey Action to be taken: David G. will check with Ryan to be sure that all available photos have been uploaded. if possible: scan Ryan's postcard of the 3 merging churches - to include on the history page suggestion: during "Passion" meeting after church in June(?) see if any member of church has a passion for photography and would take over from Ryan. 5. Changes to the web page - by David G. and associates Action taken: DONE contact info on home page info@community-ucc.org updated History page with interim pastor Jane staff email addresses next to their names "current events" also put under Congregational Life link to "Musical Programs in recent years" added page "Special Musical Programs by the Chancel Choir in Recent Years" Actions to be taken: David G. to alter the revolving photos on home page and replace choir photo on music page. Use the new photos (from David G on /drafts) on the home page except for the new "choir" one. Replace the old choir photo on the music page with the new choir photo. Replace the new choir photo in the home page revolving ones with one of the old photos of the interior of the sanctuary - preferably? the one from the back that shows the choir up front- or both? 6. Menus and submenues - Terri showed us an updated version of the main and some of the high-level submenu items. Action to be taken: Terri will polish this up and distribute to us. SUMMER ACTIVITY 7. Getting input from Committees - Committee chairs may be uncertain as to what should be included on their web page so direct one-on-one contact is needed. Since Terri knows what most of these groups are doing, she will initiate this personal contact. 8. Notices for the web this summer can be submitted to Terri and be passed on to David G. (and his web group) to post. 9. Office computer, the web, instructions Terri will talk to Jane about getting some professional (paid) help to get the new computer up and running. She and the web task group can decide on the programs that are needed for her to be able to create and put the Communigram on the web by this Fall. These will be purchased by Scott Bush (Karen's UI staff ID to get educational rate). David G. (or ??) will need to give Terri instructions re using the software to interact with our website. David G. (or ??) will need to instruct Lanie on how to create and post web events notices so she can start doing that on a weekly basis in the Fall. 10. Links to Communiweb from UI and Champaign/Urbana Chambers of Commerce - Saju will look into this and report back by email.
