Communiweb associates are Pastor Mike, Moderator Ruth, and web page maintainers who are not members of communiweb. Currently that includes Tom Watembach and Linda Morgan and in the future, I hope, David Willcox. Any of these associates may upgrade to becoming a full member of our Communiweb group. =========================================================== COMMUNIWEB ACTION ITEMS - from 2003 October 14th meeting Look for your name in CAPS to learn what you should be doing before our next meeting in mid November! 1. COMMUNIGRAM & CALENDAR - FIRST PRIORITY to get onto the web The full version of PageMaker 7.0 is now installed on Terri's computer so, in principal, the Communigram and Calendar can be uploaded to the web. TERRI - will learn how to use PageMaker with what assistance she needs from David G., Tom, or Scott. LANIE - sent a reminder to RUTH Gilbert - to have the Church Council consider TWO POLICY ISSUES: - telephone numbers/email addresses on web and - which, if any, youth photos would be allowed on web? 2. MENU ITEMS/BUTTONS REVISION - SECOND HIGHEST PRIORITY DAVID G., TERRI, and RICK will revise the home page according to the modified list of menu and submenu items that were given at the end of the September report and in the October agenda. 3. TEMPLATES FOR WEB PAGES - THIRD HIGHEST PRIORITY There is a growing need for an easy template for creating/maintaining web pages as more are created and we have more web page maintainers. DAVID G. - will look into "free" software similar to "Contribute" which would allow our web page maintainers to go to the church website, enter the web page they wish to modify (and their name and password for access to it) and have the page come up in a easy-to-modify format. To get a free version, would mean that one could only access web pages through the home page and not by typing e.g. http://www.community-ucc.org/music as you can at present although you should then be able to bookmark that page for future direct access. However, we may be able to maintain a separate way for going directly to "Building" and other subdirectories as required. 4. STAFF PAGE - is partially updated with Mike Mulberry's bio. TERRI - will maintain the Staff page and make appropriate updates. LANIE - will try to remember to bring her digital camera to take photos of Mike and his family if they show up this Sunday. 6. RELIGIOUS ED - was updated by Lanie to include schedule of teachers, rooms, etc., links to curriculum, adult classes, heifer project, and youth choir. TOM Watembach - has agree to maintain and update this web page, hopefully with summer Arts Camp writeup and photos (if the latter are allowed on the web). 7. CURRENT (& PAST) EVENTS - includes Fall Sermons thru Nov 9 and 150th Anniversary Celebration LANIE - will maintain these web pages. 8. ARCHIVING SERMONS - electronic MSWord sermons now exist for 2000-3 DAVID G. - is slowly working on a database and easy way to update the list of sermons with brief blurb re each one and a link to its pdf file. Eventually he hopes that one might be able to search by date, topic, speaker. 9. ACTIVITIES - (in transition) DAVID G. - we are apparently not having fireside dinners this fall but possibly something else so that Pastor Mike can meet with small groups of church members/families. 10. YOUTH GROUPS - TOM Ward - is looking into doing Senior High page with Duffields 11. OUTREACH & MISSION - only the survey report is available DAVID G. - is finding someone to create/maintain this page. 12. HEALTH & WELLNESS - LINDA Morgan - will check with Jean Cresswell about Jean's writeup for the web. Lanie will help Linda or her designated person re maintaining this web page. 13. MUSIC - been updated by Lanie but she will ask DAVID Willcox - to be maintainer?
