Religious Education
Religious Education at Community United ChurchWe hope you'll join us for the fun. The Religious Education Team is excited about the new year and the classes we will offer for both adults and kids. Click this link to download a brochure explaining our program offerings. Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings, before worship, from 9:00 to 10:00 am. CLASSESElementary grades We will have three separate classes taught by church members, based on grade level (K/1, 2/3, and 4/5), with “shepherds” who will accompany students through different “rotation” activities each week. We use the multiple-intelligence driven curriculum of “Come Join the Circle”- a progressive Christian publication. Middle school Students in grades 6-8 (and any interested high schoolers) will meet in Pastor Karen’s office. The topic of study this year is “Sexuality and Spirituality”. We will be using the ‘Our Whole Lives” curriculum. Preschool class Our preschool class (ages 3-4) meets beginning right after the children are dismissed from the Children’s Moment during the regular 10:15 worship service. We would also like to introduce a pilot program starting Fall Semester 09 where we will offer a K/1 class in tandem with our Preschool class. Adult classes Different courses will be available throughout the year. Please check the bulletin and Communigram online for details.
