Youth Group - Summer Service and Learning Trips

The Jr/Sr High Groups had a great service trip to San Antonio, Texas in June 2005. Click on the link to see a complete diary and pictures of the trip.

In 2006, we traveled to West Virginia to work with the F.A.S.T group.

In 2007, we joined with over 1000 UCC youth in Connecticut for General Synod. What a thrill to hear Senator Obama, journalist Leonard Pitts and hip hop historian DJ Davy D. It made the never-ending train ride all worthwhile! We have some pictures here.

In 2008, we traveled to South Dakota to join with the Oglala Lakota people of the Pine Ridge Reservation. We lived, worked and learned with our hosts as we helped rehabilitate homes.

Our 2009 trip was closer to home. We spent a week in St. Louis, MO painting a church, organizing  a food pantry, and learning about the inequities in society and how we can make a difference! See the picture below of Lauren, Mike and Sarah from our super-fun week!
