WE ARE HIRING! Community United Church of Christ (CUCC) is seeking a part-time Pianist / Organist. CUCC has a long history of infusing excellent and accessible music from a variety of genres into its worship services. The Pianist / Organist will provide piano and organ music for all Sunday worship services, annual evening services (Longest Night, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday) and at weekly Wednesday evening choir rehearsals. The Pianist / Organist will be a strong partner of the Music Director while accompanying the choir of volunteer and paid singers in rehearsals, collaborate with soloists/section leaders, and work with the Music Director and Pastor in selection and performance of service music.

Successful candidates will have previous church music experience and a degree in music (preferably in organ or piano performance or collaborative piano), collaborative accompanying experience, an attitude of generosity in collaboration, and the ability to work with singers of all calibers. The ideal candidate will be comfortable selecting and performing solo keyboard works for preludes and postludes, as well as accompanying other musicians from printed scores and lead sheets. They will have familiarity with a variety of sacred music genres and comfortability in exploring diverse cultural musical traditions from classical and traditional to modern hymnody, contemplative songs, and praise music from theologically progressive sources.
